One week ago, I received a phone call I had hoped I wouldn't receive for a long time. Niagara County called to inform me that they had been called to do a wellness check on my mother's apartment after she hadn't been seen or spoken to in a number of days. Upon entering the apartment, they found my mother deceased.
While my mother suffered from a number of various health issues, I honestly didn't expect such a sudden and final end to my relationship with my mother :(
