I have three kids, two of which are girls. Anyone who has raised girls knows that part of the territory is attitude. It starts when they are around 3 and I’m not sure if it ever stops. Girls are just downright sassy. So when I was given a copy of “Whatever Wanda” to review and read it for the first time, I couldn’t help but laugh as I saw my own two daughters reflected in the young girl in the book.
About the book:
"Whatever Wanda" is the third title in the Shine Bright Kids series! The Shine Bright Kids series
provides children and their families with
the tools to teach the importance of making good choices. The series
explores such topics as: using good judgment, taking responsibility,
having a positive attitude, and demonstrating perseverance.
“Whatever Wanda!” is the story of a young lady in serious need of an attitude adjustment. She doesn’t want to go to the Rubber Duck Days Festival with her family and she doesn’t want to participate in any of the fun activities with her friends once she’s there. To make matters worse, she’s rather rude to those who are being nice to her by answering “Whatever!” to anything anyone says to her. She’s so busy being unhappy that she misses out on all the fun that her friends and family are enjoying all around her. Luckily Wanda learns that having fun starts not with the actual activity but with her attitude and by the end of the story, she’s having a wonderful time.
