The Adventure of 3 Little Birds

We've had such a wonderful time observing the birds.  Today when we checked on the nest, the birds had all fledged and nothing was left but the empty nest.    It took exactly two weeks for them to go from hatching to fledgling the nest..

The start of our excitement started when the kids noticed that our mama House Finch started building a nest in our satellite dish.

Nest is just about done.     How many eggs will we have?

Three light blue eggs with brown speckles on them.

Day 1:  We have three baby birds in our nest.
All three eggs hatched on the same day and we started off with three very pink and fuzzy baby birds..

Day 2
Eyes are still closed and the yolk sac (the yellow spot ) has not been fully absorbed yet.

Day 3
Day Three we started seeing the beginning of the wing feathers and there's more fuzzy then pink now.

Day 13 and the babies are looking more like full sized birds now and the nest is getting very cramped.. It won't be long now before they fledge the nest.
