Saturday we ventured out off of base and did something besides shop at Walmart. Less than 30 miles up the road from where we live in the desert is the Lincoln National Forest. A perfect place for us to spend many days exploring and hiking and just doing outdoorsy stuff.
For this adventure, we took a trip up to Sunspot to see the Sunspot Solar Observatory, which is the home of the Dunn Solar Telescope. While we were there chatting with the women working the visitors center, they told us about a little waterfall to visit on our way back down the mountain, which we of course had to see.
