Meal Planning



I have a love/hate relationship with dinner preparation.  I LOVE to cook and I love to eat..  But I absolutely hate cleaning up after cooking dinner.   Anyone else?

I keep being reminded that I have three kids, ages 10 (in 24 days) thru 18 who are perfectly able to clean the kitchen after dinner.  I've tried that before with my oldest, asking her to load and unload the dishwasher each night.  The end result was that she didn't rinse the dishes off before putting them in the machine and they were worse off than before they went in.  Oh well, maybe with the three of them working together, it might get done right.

Anyhooo, it's that time of the week to get the grocery shopping done and plan out the meals.  And it is here that I have a confession to make - I ate out WAY much more than I wanted last week.  We got our tax refund in and well, my scale shows it.. I mean, I was whining because the scale shows a weight gain and then I think ohhh, yeah, we had Subway,  In-N-Out, Burger King, and Chick-fil-a instead of cooking dinner at home four nights - Go figure, right??  (but oooh that Double Double Animal Style was soooooooo goooooood).. That means I have leftover meals ready to go in the fridge/freezer to eliminate the shopping costs this time around.  This also means that a number of the meals from last go round make a re-appearance this week.  LOL    It also means we will NOT be eating out this time around!!!  (okay, maybe one time for a date night but I will eat healthy.. lol)

Chicken Burrito Bowls with Quinoa, black beans, corn and avocado

Bangers and Mash

Thursday
Spicy Pineapple Pork with Rice and zucchini

Friday
Chicken Bacon and cabbage skillet

Saturday
Skillet Shepherd's Pie

Sunday
Beef and Broccoli

Monday
Honey Lemon Chicken with Sauteed Green beans

Tuesday
Smother Baked Chicken Burritos with Mexican Rice and Salad
