One thing we don't see often living in the desert is rain. Honestly, we're lucky if we see it rain three times a year. I think the last time we had rain was in February. So when we began hearing thunder in the distance and stepped outside to find precipitation falling to the ground, it was pretty cool.
First, it was just a light drizzle.
Then it was coming down pretty hard.
One thing we always joke about is the Edwards Weather Bubble. While towns around us get rain pretty often, we almost never do. Anytime a thunderstorm cell begins making it's way in our direction, it almost always dissipates around us. Sure enough, when I checked the weather radar, the thunderstorms around us parted and went around the "bubble". But at least we did get some rain!!
I tried to get a photo of the lightning around us in the distance, but the best I got was a photo of the clouds that looked eerily like a skull in the sky. I guess this really is "Deadwards" LOL
